Marciana Biasiello

Marciana Biasiello's intensely patterned images of romantic entanglements recall Matisse and are a direct inheritance of Chicago’s Imagist artists of the 1970's and 1980's.  Biasiello received her BA from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign in 1978 and her MFA, from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago / Photography, 1981.  In the late 1980’s and 1990’s, Biasiello executed large-scale, multi-media installations that featured room settings – bedrooms, artist studios, kitchens - with audio components.
